About Us

As an avid gardener, PE teacher and Yoga instructor I kept wondering how to help my students understand the impact of eating healthy and physical activity.  If students could experience the joy of planting and growing their own food this knowledge could help improve their quality of life now and as they grow older.
In January, 2014 I established a 501(c)(3)nonprofit  called A Place To Grow (APTG).  With the help of my board members Regina McCurdy, Susie Powell, and many volunteers we provide keyhole gardens and teach the basics of gardening, nutrition and science.    APTG initial plan was to work with schools but expanded to include seniors, the disabled, low income, children's homes and community gardens.  The gardens are easily accessible for everyone, especially seniors and the disabled.
If you know a school, senior center or group of individuals that could benefit and enjoy a garden, please contact A Place To Grow, Inc.   at  place.grow@gmail.com for consideration.
Thank you,
